Information about Indium (III) Acetate Hydrate / CAS 304671-64-5
Indium (III) acetate hydrate is a white crystalline, water-soluble material primarily used as a precursor for the synthesis of Indium-containing materials, including quantum dots, anti-reflective coatings, and solar cell components. Its solubility in water makes it particularly suitable for aqueous-based synthetic methods such as hydrothermal and sol-gel processing.
For example, a recent study employed Indium Acetate hydrate in the hydrothermal synthesis of fluorine-doped Indium Oxide films. The Indium triacetate in the precursor solution was deposited onto stainless steel mesh, where it decomposed into Indium Oxide upon annealing. Fluorine doping enhanced the photocatalytic activity of the resulting film by seven-fold.
